Job summary

A local authority is seeking a Kennels / Transport Officer to ensure the well-being of dogs at their facility in Waltham Forest. This role involves cleaning, feeding, exercising, and monitoring health, along with transporting dogs when necessary. Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Waltham Forest to assist with the appointment of a Kennels / Transport Officer on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at client’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 14.84 - 18.87 per hour

Summary: To ensure that all dogs at the Councils kennelling facility are properly cared for and in good health. This includes feeding cleaning exercising providing bedding monitoring health and transporting dogs when required.

Responsibilities
  • Clean kennels and surrounding areas to maintain a safe hygienic environment.
  • Provide dogs with food fresh water bedding and daily exercise.
  • Monitor health and wellbeing reporting concerns and arranging veterinary care when required.
  • Ensure safe transportation of dogs as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records of feeding health checks and exercise.
  • Follow all health safety and animal welfare procedures.
Essentials
  • Experience of working with or caring for animals particularly dogs.
  • Ability to carry out manual tasks including cleaning and lifting.
  • Compassionate patient and confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (for transporting dogs).
  • Flexible and reliable with the ability to work weekends/shift patterns if required.
