A leading NHS Trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a motivated nurse to join the Cath Lab team. You will participate in the 24/7 Primary PCI service and engage with high-acuity patients in a dynamic environment. Ideal candidates will possess skills in ECG recognition and intravenous cannulation, and have strong communication abilities. Training and academic development opportunities are available.
Please note that if you currently work for another NHS Trust and are applying to accept this position as a secondment opportunity, before applying you must seek agreement and authorisation from your current Trust.
Secondments can't be agreed without this approval.
If you are unable to gain approval you should refrain from applying unless you wish to take this role as a fixed‑term position.
We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse aiming to further develop their clinical skills in Cath Labs, with recent experience of working in an acute Cath Lab setting. The job can be physically demanding and you must be able to stand for long periods in the lab wearing lead protection. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. Working alongside the current Band 6 and Band 7 team you will help mould the future development of the service to include 24/7 primary PCI, complex structural and complex EP work. The role will involve participation in the 24/7 Primary PCI service with an on‑call commitment. You will join our team of experienced nurses working in our catheterisation labs. The clinical environment can be challenging and rapidly changing with high acuity patients. The nursing staff work closely alongside the multidisciplinary team to provide high standards of evidence‑based care. There is a strong focus on developing clinical practice and professional development and contributing to a research culture within the nursing team to identify current knowledge and deliver evidence‑based care. Training will be provided, and further academic study is encouraged and supported.
At UHSussex, diversity is our strength, and we want you to feel included to help us always deliver Excellent Care Everywhere, as shown in our Outstanding for Caring CQC rating. Your uniqueness and experiences will be part of our creative and innovative community where everyone is encouraged to succeed. We have a range of staff networks to help break down barriers, and can offer a buddy to help new members settle in. We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 3) and a Veteran Aware Trust.
