A leading NHS Trust in Guildford is seeking a highly skilled Band 6 nurse to join their Respiratory Medicine team. The role involves managing patient care, leading a nursing team, and ensuring high standards of clinical practice. This permanent position offers a salary ranging from £40,617 to £48,778 per annum, pro-rata.
Job Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Band 6 nurse within Respiratory Medicine. Albury is a general medical ward specialising in Respiratory Medicine. We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Sister/Charge Nurse seeking to expand their critical care/high dependency skills by caring for Level 2 patients undergoing non-invasive ventilation. This is a busy and varied role; you will need excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others. You will be supported into the post by the Matron and Senior Sister.

The post holder will deliver patient care on a daily basis and be expert in all areas of nursing care from admission to discharge, facilitating clinical practice development. As nurse in charge, they have overall responsibility for day-to-day management of their clinical area and for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures, maintaining associated records. They will manage, support and lead a team of nurses in the delivery of high-standard, evidence-based patient-centred care; assist the senior sister in staff management and supervision of learners; provide advice and support to patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team. They will use clinical audit, research and teaching to monitor and improve standards of care and liaise with the senior sister. They will provide leadership on the Trust’s values and behaviours.
