Junior Project Manager

Overview

The Junior Project Manager will assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of special tooling projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn from senior leadership, gain exposure to complex aerospace and mechanical engineering projects, and develop core project management skills. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Head of Project Delivery.

Project Support
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project documentation including schedules, reports, and WBS/SOPs.
  • Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure timely project milestones are met.
  • Help monitor project budgets and support reporting activities.
  • Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Support the coordination of RFQs and tender responses.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to collect information and coordinate actions.
  • Attend customer site visits with senior staff to observe and assist with onsite engagement activities.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for internal stakeholders and selected clients.
  • Performance & Quality: Assist in tracking team performance and reporting metrics to leadership; Participate in quality assurance and validation tasks as directed; Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in tooling design and manufacturing.
  • HSE & Compliance: Support HSE documentation preparation and compliance with onsite safety procedures; Assist with the delivery of internal HSE briefings and maintain relevant logs.
Essential
  • Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic project planning tools (e.g., MS Project or similar).
  • Right to work in the UK and eligible for Security Clearance (SC level).
  • Industry experience in Aerospace or Motorsport.
Desirable
  • Some exposure to engineering/manufacturing environments, ideally within aerospace or automotive tooling.
  • Understanding of basic design and manufacturing principles.
  • Previous exposure and knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO9001, EN9100 or IATF16949)
  • Previous internship or placement experience in a technical or project coordination role.
