A leading fashion brand in London seeks a Junior Garment & Quality Technologist to support technical aspects in the Development team. The role involves ensuring product quality and fit while collaborating with different teams. Junior Garment & Quality Technologist
Job Description:
A studio based role, supporting all Technical aspects within the Development team working alongside Production.
To support the end to end quality of fit and construction, maintaining required quality levels. This role reports into the Senior Garment & Quality Technologist.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Development, Fabrics, Pattern, Design and Production teams to ensure products are risk assessed in a timely manner.
Handle all submissions and approvals and test reports. For fabric and garment after care testing.
Measure development samples, annotate discrepancies and prepare them for factory reference.
Cross check pattern, rating sheet samples for CMT product alongside the PD and Production teams.
To effectively communicate technical requirements and changes to internal teams during collection development stage.
Create detailed specs for technical pack for factories to follow during development, to ensure garments conform to required measurements.
Accurate management of software admin and data input – fit, construction comments and size charts.
Participate in product reviews in line with competitors fit and quality standards.
Ensure that quality and performance standards are understood, met and kept consistent across manufacturers and product ranges.
Support with the creation of the Brand’s quality standard manuals and implementation.
Requirements:
Degree level or similar
1-2 years of experience within an apparel or related industry
Proven ability of apparel construction & fit
Pattern cutting and grading skills would be an advantage
Manufacturing experience
Testing knowledge would be an advantage
PLM / PDM experience would be an advantage
MS office skills
