Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Freight & Logistics Insurance Assistant to join our Marine Cargo team in London. This role will provide direct support to the Director of Global Marine, International Freight & Logistics, while working closely with the wider Marine Cargo team. The successful candidate will be trained in Freight Liability Insurance and Shippers Interest Insurance as they apply to large logistics companies.

You will assist across client-facing activities, insurance market interactions, and internal processing functions to ensure seamless service delivery in line with Willis policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to develop technical knowledge and gain exposure within a global insurance and logistics environment.

The Role
  • Support client and market-facing activities under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Carry out sanctions/KYC checks when not completed by offshore support teams.
  • Work across internal platforms and systems
  • Draft and send emails including quotes, confirmations of cover and endorsements.
  • Assist with contract building, updating slips and related documentation.
  • Monitor invoicing, including preparing, checking and sending monthly invoices
  • Handle smaller renewals and routine client queries.
  • Respond to queries from offshore teams
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and standards.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop insurance knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Prior exposure to insurance, logistics, or client service (desirable but not essential).
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across different geographies.
