Overview

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a proactive and technically capable Junior Digital Communications Assistant to support a temporary peak in workload. This medium-level ICT role offers hands-on experience with key digital communication platforms and network technologies in a dynamic public sector environment.

Location: Rhondda Fach Leisure Centre

Contract Type: Agency Worker (Inside IR35)

Duration: Starting asap, in an ongoing contract

Hours: 37 per week | Monday–Friday | 09:00–17:00

Pay Rate: £12.21 PAYE | £15.95 Umbrella/Ltd

• Cisco (LAN/WAN/Wireless Equipment, Routers, VPN, PIX Firewall)
• Aruba Networks
• CUCM (Cisco Unified Communications Manager)
• Microsoft Teams Telephony
• Touchpoint Systems

Ideal Candidate

• Beginner to intermediate experience in Cisco network design and routers
• Hands-on knowledge of Cisco VPN software and firewall configurations
• Familiarity with configuration and support of LAN/WAN/Wireless infrastructure
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work under pressure during peak periods
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
