Job summary

An automotive manufacturing company located in Ellesmere Port is seeking a knowledgeable technical SME with experience in welding, adhesives, and sealants. You will be responsible for enhancing weld efficiency and quality, along with training maintenance personnel. A key requirement is holding an HNC qualification in Electrical or Mechanical engineering with strong interpersonal skills. The role is primarily on-site, offering an opportunity to lead within a dynamic production environment.

• Be a time-served Electrical/Mechanical/Multi-Skilled engineer.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate others.
• Good communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance in all body joining matters.
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to identify bottlenecks.
• Support Body shop engineering as part of a multi-functional team.

Job description

Responsibilities

• As the Plant’s subject matter expert (SME) providing technical assistance in all body joining matters (welding, adhesives & sealants)
• Working closely with production and maintenance teams to identify technical bottlenecks and provide technical solutions
• Working with production to improve weld efficiency and quality
• Improving adhesive performance and anti-corrosion aspects
• Liaising with CCRW
• Training Maintenance personnel
• Supporting Body shop engineering as part of a multi functional team
• Supporting model launch and engineering change programmes

Qualifications

• Be a time-served Electrical/Mechanical/Multi-Skilled engineer
• Have a HNC qualification in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate others
• Effective work / time management skills
• Good communication skills at all levels
