About the role

The Data Platform team builds and maintains our self-serve data platform for our international divisions. Seeking to better align ourselves with our organisation needs, we take a business domain-oriented approach to organising our data engineering and data products. Data domains are very broad across our business encompassing Retail, Pharmacy, Healthcare, Marketing, Product, Merchandising, Opticians etc

As Test Manager, you will report to the Head of Analytics Engineering and own the test strategy for the data platform. You will lead a team of Test Leads and Test Engineers ensuring the quality of data products. You\'ll be responsible for designing and implementing testing frameworks, oversee the design and execution of test plans, manging test data and driving continuous improvement and efficiency in testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Excellent experience in software testing and QA leadership, ideally within data platforms, data engineering, or analytics environments.

• Excellent experience with test strategy and planning, including risk-based testing, regression testing, and performance testing

• Strong experience in test automation tools and frameworks.

• Deep understanding of data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, with experience integrating testing into automated workflows

• Experience working in cross-functional teams with developers, data engineers, and product owners

• Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or cloud certifications).

• A mindset for continuous improvement, with examples of how you\'ve improved testing processes or team efficiency

• Experience of coaching and developing your peer\'s knowledge and understanding of modern data engineering principles and practices.

• Experience of line management or team leadership.

• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or cloud certifications)

• Knowledge of agile processes such as Scrum, SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)

• Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001
