Role Overview

The IT Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of IT services across the organisation. This role focuses on operational excellence, compliance, and service reliability rather than strategic transformation.

Key responsibilities include managing the Microsoft Azure and M365 environment, overseeing hardware lifecycle management (laptops, monitors, and peripherals), supporting business continuity, and ensuring the IT infrastructure runs effectively to meet business needs.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Manage and maintain the organisation’s Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring availability, security, and performance.
  • Oversee patching, updates, and lifecycle management for cloud services and endpoints.
  • Implement and maintain operational procedures, including backup, disaster recovery, and change management.
  • Manage procurement, deployment, and retirement of IT hardware for office and remote users.
  • Maintain accurate device inventory records and ensure timely replacements and upgrades.
  • Act as escalation point for operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Liaise with Microsoft, hardware suppliers, and managed service providers for support and operational services.
  • Track and report on cloud service health, device compliance, and operational KPIs.
  • Lead, support, and guide technical staff responsible for day-to-day operations.
  • Assist the IT Director with operational cost management and budget tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records of configurations, processes, and operational standards.
