Job Title: IT Manager / Senior IT Lead

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Working Pattern: Hybrid with on-site presence required

Salary: Up to £45,000 - dependent on experience

About the Role

An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced IT Manager / Senior IT Lead to take ownership of its technology function and lead ongoing digital transformation.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining strategic leadership with technical delivery. You will be responsible for the stability, security and scalability of the IT estate, while driving improvements across infrastructure, cloud, cyber security and end-user services.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping IT strategy, delivering projects and ensuring technology supports business growth and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the internal IT team
• Provide strategic and hands-on leadership across infrastructure, cloud and cyber security
• Manage secure hybrid environments using Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware and Veeam
• Oversee endpoint and device security, including Microsoft Intune and EDR solutions
• Deliver complex IT and transformation projects end to end
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships and software licensing
• Ensure robust backup, disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements
• Review and improve IT processes to align with business objectives
• Assess, procure and implement hardware and software solutions
• Oversee network, data and communications systems including VPN, Exchange and email security
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the board on IT performance, risk and strategy

About You

You will be a confident and experienced IT professional who has already operated at a senior or leadership level and is comfortable balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.

You will bring :

• At least 2 years’ experience in an IT lead or management role
• Strong technical knowledge across cloud, infrastructure and virtualisation
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, VMware, Veeam, Barracuda, CrowdStrike and VoIP solutions
• Proven experience delivering IT projects and managing stakeholders
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• A proactive, solutions-led approach with a focus on security and resilience
