CFM is a leading Construction, Facilities Management and M&E services provider across Northern Ireland and beyond. We're in the middle of a digital transformation journey, using technology and data to reshape how we deliver value for our people and our clients. We're now looking for an IT Manager to lead that journey.
This is more than a support role. It's about leading, delivering and embedding smart IT systems, secure infrastructure and data-driven decision making across every area of the business.
Key Activities / Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement an IT strategy and plan aligned to the business plan and vision
- Act as the digital advisor to senior management, identifying opportunities for systems and data to drive growth and efficiency
- System Ownership & Development: Lead the design, implementation and improvement of core systems including ERP, MRP, management dashboards and task tracking tools
- Oversee internal software solutions, enhancements, change requests and integrations across the business
- Infrastructure & Support: Manage all IT infrastructure including networks, servers, hardware and cloud services
- Ensure robust performance, backup and business continuity measures are in place
- Oversee helpdesk operations and ensure SLAs are consistently met
- Cyber Security & Governance: Lead compliance with Cyber Essentials and all relevant cyber and data protection standards
- Develop IT policies and ensure GDPR and other regulatory compliance is maintained
- Communication & Workflow Tools: Oversee the rollout and adoption of internal communication tools, including VoIP and messaging platforms
- Optimise digital workflows to increase cross-team efficiency and transparency
- Team & Vendor Management: Lead, develop and support the IT team
- Manage third-party providers and ensure value from vendor relationships
- Deliver training and user support across departments to increase tech capability
- Budget & Performance: Manage the IT budget and ensure effective investment in systems and tools
- Monitor performance, user satisfaction and KPI delivery using real-time data
- What Success Looks Like: Timely, successful rollout of new ERP and workflow systems; High system uptime and fast resolution of helpdesk tickets; Cyber Essentials certification maintained; IT strategy aligned and contributing to business objectives; Clear communication and reporting dashboards used across departments; High team engagement and capability within the IT function
Education / Experience
- Essential Criteria:
- 1+ years delivering IT projects that support business operations
- Experience designing and developing ERP/MRP systems or management software
- Strong understanding of IT systems, networks and business reporting
- Proactive and adaptable with a problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience managing complex IT change across multiple sites
- Database knowledge (SQL etc.)
- Third level qualification in IT or related field
- Full UK driving licence - Desirable Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area
- Experience in Facilities Management or Construction sectors
- Familiarity with GDPR, cyber security frameworks and IT best practice
- Experience working in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment
