A leading NHS trust in Manchester is looking for a Digital Support Technician to manage the IT asset lifecycle. Responsibilities include overseeing procurement, maintenance, and compliance of digital assets, coordinating deployments, and providing expert guidance to junior technicians. Ideal candidates will have a strong infrastructure support background and experience in customer-facing IT services.

As a Digital Support Technician - Asset Management, you will take a lead role in ensuring the Trust's digital infrastructure is supported through the strategic and operational management of IT assets. Operating within the Digital Services Directorate under the Technology - Digital Operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of digital assets—from procurement and deployment to maintenance and decommissioning—ensuring compliance with procurement policies, financial governance, and national standards.
You will lead on the maintenance and integrity of the Trust's Configuration Management Database (CMDB), coordinate complex asset deployments across multiple sites, and provide expert guidance to junior technicians and support teams. Your role will involve proactive engagement with stakeholders across Digital Services, clinical teams, and external suppliers to ensure asset management processes are efficient, secure, and aligned with service delivery goals. This position is suited to experienced IT professionals with a strong background in infrastructure support, asset governance, and service management. You will be expected to contribute to policy development, lead audits, support procurement planning, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role may involve cross-site travel and participation in out-of-hours support as required.
