A leading Alzheimer's charity is seeking someone passionate about supporting individuals living with dementia in Bristol. In this role, you will help facilitate engagement in activities, manage the setup and tidying, and assist participants in sharing their experiences. Strong communication and empathy are essential. This role requires a minimum age of 16 and is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Are you passionate about enabling people affected by dementia to share their experiences and be heard? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Local Involvement activities enable people living with dementia to engage in meaningful activities within a group setting, either online or face-to-face, and to have a voice. They do this by using their experiences to influence the work both of Alzheimer's Society and the health and social care environment on matters to improve the quality of their lives.
You’ll help to set up the room and tidy away at the end of the group, prepare and hand out refreshments, welcome and talk with people living with dementia, and assist them to engage in Involvement activities. If supporting an online group, help participants join in the conversation. Some light administration duties, such as registering attendees or taking meeting notes, may also be involved.
This role is to support at our Dementia Voice Group, which meets at St. Stephen\'s Church Cafe, 21 St. Stephen\'s Street, Bristol BS1 1EQ on the first Tuesday of each month from 10am-2pm.
