Job Description

We’re currently looking to hire an Investment Operations Oversight Manager to join L&G Institutional Retirement Investment Operations.

This is a manager‑level role focused on delivering high‑quality and effective operational oversight of Service Partners, both internal and external to the L&G Group. This includes oversight of asset managers (both in‑house and external), asset data suppliers, and custodians.

The role is responsible for ensuring robust governance and control frameworks are in place, enabling Service Partners to consistently deliver high‑quality services that are measurable against agreed benchmarks and KPIs. These metrics will feed into transparent, meaningful management information (MI) to support performance monitoring and strategic decision‑making.

What you'll be doing
  • Overseeing day‑to‑day service delivery from internal and external providers, ensuring adherence to agreed KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations. Leading weekly service and KPI review meetings.
  • Driving the evolution of provider operating models and reporting frameworks to reflect the increasing complexity and growth of IR’s business, continuously enhancing KPI and MI reporting by capturing relevant data.
  • Owning and managing the day‑to‑day relationships with internal and external providers, fostering a collaborative approach to maximise service output. Establishing a comparative framework for evaluating provider performance across key metrics.
  • Scheduling and conducting site visits to internal and external providers to assess operating models, including system architecture, process flows, risk controls, BCP/DR plans, and staffing profiles.
  • Building and implementing an internal service model and relevant dashboards for internal clients and data consumers, including formal SLAs, KPIs, and MI reporting.
  • Maintaining a robust control environment by identifying, recording, and mitigating risks, ensuring all relevant SLAs are regularly reviewed.
  • Implementing appropriate governance, reporting and escalation of changes impacting customers to ensure key checkpoints are met in line with stakeholder and business requirements.
Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • In‑depth knowledge of investment operational knowledge of Asset Managers and/or Insurance PRT Providers.
  • Technical knowledge of OTC Derivatives, Collateral Management, E2E Trade Processing and Private Markets/Assets.
  • Strong understanding of control frameworks, risk management principles with proven ability to implement and maintain effective control in a complex environment.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority in matrixed or cross‑functional settings with strong interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for persuasion and negotiation.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and driving alignment across teams or departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong decision‑making skills and the ability to lead with confidence and clarity across multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • E2E Operations Oversight function inclusive of optics i.e. Performance and Risk Dashboards, Senior Management Reporting, Stakeholder Reporting.
