Interim Legal Counsel (6‑month FTC)

Location: London (3 days in office)

Working Pattern: Full-time or 4 days/week considered

An established consumer brand is seeking an experienced Interim Legal Counsel to provide immediate support during a busy period of transition. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key part in keeping the business operating smoothly.

The Role

Reporting directly into their Geneal Counsel and joining a lean legal team, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business, with a primary focus on commercial contracts across a range of business functions. You’ll also support with marketing, advertising, and general compliance matters, ensuring the business continues to operate within regulatory requirements while meeting commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts (including sales, procurement, marketing, digital, influencer, licensing, logistics and IT).
  • Provide guidance to marketing and digital teams around brand protection and advertising compliance.
  • Offer pragmatic advice on general compliance matters, primarily data protection.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation and deliver clear, solutions‑led advice in a fast‑moving environment.
About You
  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with strong in‑house and/or private practice experience. (Likely upwards of c.5 years PQE)
  • Background in FMCG or consumer goods is highly desirable.
  • Highly resilient, pragmatic, and commercially minded.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment.
