Job summary

A local government consultancy is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance for a housing subsidiary. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Director to enhance management reporting, support budgeting and contract pricing, and review the financial processes. Candidates should be CCAB or CIMA qualified with significant finance/accounting experience in local authorities or housing associations. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Qualified with post qualification finance/accounting experience in Local Authority or Housing Association.
• Experience working at Head of Finance level or above.
• Experience in Housing Repairs accounting.

• 6 month contract
• £550-600 per day
• 1-2 days a week on site

About the client

Morgan Law is seeking an Interim Head of Finance for a subsidiary company of a local authority.

Accountabilities

• Work alongside the Finance Director and assist with the following:
• Housing repairs and project mgmt. management accounting
• Process mapping current end to end processes to understand where the risks are and work out how to improve them (including how they might work in a new system)
• Improving the management reporting process
• Assisting with contract pricing, budget and business plan formulation
• Reviewing the current system (Sage 200) and improving where necessary

Candidate Requirements

• CCAB or CIMA Qualified with post qualification finance / accounting experience within either a Local Authority or Housing Association (E)
• Experience working at Head of Finance level or above
• Experience in Housing Repairs accounting
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
