Job description
Interim Headteacher
Location - Harrow
Hours - TBC
Salary - TBC (Dependant on Experience)

We are seeking an exceptional Interim Headteacher to provide calm, confident and experienced leadership to our Pupil Referral Unit during a period of transition. The successful candidate will bring a strong track record of senior leadership within PRUs, alternative provision or SEMH settings, with the ability to rapidly assess need, stabilise provision and drive high standards.

This is a key role requiring a leader who can inspire staff, engage positively with pupils who present complex needs, and foster a safe, structured and aspirational environment. You will oversee safeguarding with rigour, strengthen behaviour and attendance systems, and ensure high-quality teaching and learning across the unit.

The ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships quickly, work effectively with partners and families, and provide clarity, consistency and direction for the staff team. You will model trauma-informed, relational practice and maintain high expectations for every learner.

This interim role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact for some of our most vulnerable young people, providing stability and strategic leadership while supporting the longer-term development of the PRU.

Contract & recruitment information
