Job description

Are you a qualified accountant with a flair for financial reporting? Do you enjoy working across budgeting, forecasting, and audit within a highly regulated, public-interest environment? Are you ready to take ownership of key financial outputs in a complex, stakeholder-rich organisation?

My client, a nationally focused, not-for-profit body involved in regulatory oversight, is recruiting an Interim Financial Reporting Lead on an 18-month fixed-term contract. The organisation operates primarily on a remote basis, with occasional travel to central London required for key meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing the organisation’s statutory accounts and contributing to year-end reporting
  • Leading the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and financial updates for senior stakeholders
  • Managing treasury activity including cash flow and bank reconciliations
  • Overseeing VAT and tax reporting, as well as purchase order procedures
  • Supporting contract performance reporting, including testing supplier submissions and fielding finance-related queries
  • Preparing reports for internal governance committees and external audit bodies
  • Acting as finance lead on internal and external audit processes
  • Deputising for senior finance colleagues when required

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to play a central role in shaping financial stewardship in a regulatory context. You'll join an experienced and collaborative finance function with broad influence across the organisation.

The role is offered on an 18-month FTC basis. You’ll work predominantly from home, with ad hoc travel to Central London as required. The organisation offers a generous benefits package.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Full professional accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent)
  • Strong background in statutory reporting, audit support and treasury management
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex deadlines
  • Experience working in a public-interest or regulated environment is desirable
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, and strong Excel proficiency
