Job summary

Interim Deputy Headteacher (SEN/SEMH School)

Panoramic Associates is partnered with a SEN School based in the East Midlands requiring an interim Deputy Headteacher from January until Easter initially, with the possibility of extending. This role is central in driving inclusion and developing personalised support across an SEN/SEMH School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on whole‑school inclusion, working closely with the SENCo to strengthen SEND provision
  • Oversee curriculum adaptations to meet diverse SEMH and SEND needs
  • Support and quality‑assure EHCP processes, ensuring timely and compliant practice.
  • Play a role in safeguarding across the school (not as DSL)
  • Contribute to school improvement and readiness during the Ofsted inspection window.
  • Provide visible, proactive leadership that supports staff, learners, and families.
Qualifications
  • QTS or QTLS
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Strong experience in inclusion, SEND, or SEMH settings
  • Robust safeguarding knowledge and confidence managing complex cases
