A leading equipment solutions provider in the United Kingdom seeks a Field-based Installation Engineer. The role involves providing customer support through machine control installations, troubleshooting, and delivering training on Trimble systems. Essential skills include mechanical/electrical understanding and customer focus. On-job training is provided, and the role requires national coverage with occasional remote work. The Field based Installation Engineer reports directly to the Installations Team Leader (Regional) and is responsible for providing customer support through on‑site Machine Control installations, measurement, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service and repair of on‑machine control systems across all machine types, brands and technology models on a National scale.
The installation engineer will install Trimble hardware (Base kit) and accurately measure machine control systems on OEM (Trimble Earthworks, GSC900) dealer machines and customers construction equipment.
As part of the SITECH customer proposition the engineer will provide hands‑on training to end‑users on the operation of Machine Control systems where necessary and deliver technical assistance alongside our Technical Support and Application team.
The role requires remote working with occasional National coverage and occasional stays away from home. A customer‑centric attitude, a can‑do, will‑do approach and the ability to work both alone and as part of a team are key to success.
A background in Plant, mechanical and electrical engineering is required but not essential. On‑job training will be provided for a successful candidate. A keen eye for detail and fault‑finding through knowledge/experience and root‑cause mechanical/electronic awareness are essential.
