Job Title: Injection Mould Designer

Location: Stevenage

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: £35 – £38 (Apply online only, DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Injection Mould Designer to join our in‑house toolroom on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for designing high‑precision injection mould tools—from single‑impression moulds to multi‑cavity hot runner systems—supporting customers in the medical, automotive, switchgear, and packaging sectors.

Working Hours

41.5 hours per week Monday–Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00 Friday: 08:00 – 16:00

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Designing injection mould tools (single impression and multi‑cavity hot runner)
• Component design and optimisation
• Participating in and conducting design reviews
• Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles
• Producing detailed 3D & 2D designs (Pro/Engineer Creo and SolidWorks desirable)
• Managing projects from concept to manufacture
• Providing customer interaction and technical support

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in injection mould design; Toolmaking experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of side cores, up‑and‑aways, lifters, and complex motions

• Steel type selection and polymer behaviour
• Hydraulics and machining strategies
