A leading IT consulting firm is seeking an SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineer in Exeter. This role involves managing and optimizing both on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities include designing scalable infrastructure, monitoring system performance, and ensuring compliance with security standards. Ideal candidates will have strong cloud platform knowledge and scripting proficiency. This is a 6-month contract, paying £600 per day, requiring attendance in the office once a week.

Qualifications

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Automate processes and deployments to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular system audits and performance evaluations.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Familiarity with networking concepts, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Storage Systems from vendors such as Dell EMC, IBM, DDN, NetApp
  Underpinning virtualisation via VMware
  Centralised Backup and Restore Service for the company (now a hybrid solution hosted on on-premise storage and AWS
  Mainframes hosting a variety of critical Linux and z/OS based services
  Data archiving
