A growing technology firm in Edinburgh seeks an enthusiastic Infrastructure Engineer to lead their Azure operations. Responsibilities include architecting secure and scalable environments and managing infrastructure security operations. Ideal candidates are early in their career, eager to grow, and ready to enhance their Azure skills. The role offers a hybrid work model, 25 days of annual leave, and a company pension scheme. Ideal for those looking to make a significant impact in a rapidly expanding company.
JOB TITLE: Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)
SALARY: £35,000- £45,000
LOCATION: Pentland Science Park, Scotland
HOURS: Full time, or part time (at least 0.6 FTE) with the salary adjusted on a pro-rated basis
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 2 days on-site
Ogibiotec is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to take ownership and leadership of all hosted infrastructure operations, design and security. The candidate will maintain stable, secure, scalable Azure environments while enabling the development team to focus solely on product delivery.
This role must absorb all infrastructure functions currently delivered by an external development team and replace them with in-house capability that can grow with this quickly-scaling company. Coverage includes future multi-territory expansion and handling time-zone-aligned support where required in the future.
Ogibiotec is a rapidly growing Scotland-based company specializing in the design and manufacture of small, modular bioreactors, alongside the development of intuitive web‑app–based software for their control. Driven by a mission to make bioreactors accessible to every microbiology lab, the company aims to revolutionize microbial culturing—a critical process underpinning microbiology and biotechnology. By automating routine and time‑consular tasks, Ogotec’s systems enable researchers to focus on more complex scientific questions, accelerating discovery and innovation.
The role would suit an engineer in the first few years of their career who wants to extend their knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure. While we expect this candidate to have worked for a time supporting cloud infrastructure, we are open to candidates such as graduates who have demonstrated gaining this experience through other routes. A key attribute is ability and willingness to learn.
Note that unfortunately we cannot sponsor visas or overseas remote workers. The successful candidate must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Key responsibilities that will be expected of the successful candidate.
Additional responsibilities that the candidate will pick up as they develop.
