Infrastructure Engineer

Our client, a highly reputable business located in the heart of Kent, is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to join their internal IT department to provide 3rd line escalation support & project management to their Microsoft IT ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a broad range experience across service desk, networking and infrastructure gaining exposure to Windows Servers, 365/Azure, SharePoint and AD/Exchange as the company continues its on premise to cloud transformation program.

Reporting to the IT Manager, you’ll provide hands‑on support across Servers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, specialist applications, and network infrastructure. Our client is looking to pay up to £40,000 to £45,000 circa, to be based in Maidstone, Kent (5 days per week, working 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm) with additional benefits including a 5% bonus potential.

What you’ll do:
  • Provide support across hardware, software, phones, mobiles, and specialist systems.
  • Manage helpdesk enquiries, escalating where needed and seeing issues through to resolution.
  • Support Servers (Windows 2012/2016), Exchange 365, backups (Veeam), and network infrastructure.
  • Set up new sites, accounts, and mobile devices.
  • Maintain IT documentation and ensure smooth daily operations.
What we’re looking for:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT support or service function with experience in a 3rd Line Support position is a must have.
  • Previous experience working within an Internal IT department is a nice to have.
  • ERP management capabilities (ideally COINS or Netsuite) is a nice to have.
  • Technical expertise in Server Maintenance (2012 to 2016), Backups (Veeam) and Network Infrastructure is a must have.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments (Azure, 365, Office, SharePoint, AD, Exchange) is a must have.
  • Confident, customer-focused problem solver with excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites (company pool vehicle provided).
