Overview

The post holder is responsible, in conjunction with the Head of Clinical Quality & Safety for developing & reviewing policies and protocols in respect of Infection Control, and for developing, implementing and evaluating surveillance/audit programmes in line with the St Giles Hospice Infection Control Programme and Clinical Audit.

Work will be generated by clinical service requirements across the Hospice, and by working closely with the Senior Leadership Team. The post holder will be required to demonstrate good organisational skills and initiative in order to manage their own workload. The unpredictable nature of infection control will require a flexible approach on behalf of the post holder.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review policies and protocols in respect of Infection Control.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate surveillance/audit programmes in line with the St Giles Hospice Infection Control Programme and Clinical Audit.
  • Coordinate work generated by clinical service requirements across the Hospice and collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills and initiative to manage workload.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to respond to the unpredictable nature of infection control work.
