Job summary

A training service provider in Leicester is seeking an Industries Tutor for HMP Fosse Way. This full-time role involves developing, administering, and delivering specialist education programs aimed at enhancing employability and reducing reoffending. Key responsibilities include planning and preparing lesson plans, maintaining records, and ensuring student engagement. Ideal candidates will hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, possess flexibility, and have a proven background in teaching. Experience in a custodial environment is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of working in an environment needing strong communication skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
• Recent experience and knowledge of teaching your subject.

Responsibilities

• Plan education activities and revise to meet objectives.
• Prepare individual lesson plans and materials for effective learning.
• Administer accreditation processes for learners.
• Maintain accurate learner records and performance reports.
• Create a professional learning environment.
• Teach lessons of 2 hours, 45 minutes as required.
• Cover lessons in the absence of colleagues.
• Manage resources effectively within the budget.
• Evaluate own work and encourage learner feedback.
• Ensure certification for participating learners.
• Promote program activities and maintain promotional materials.
• Collaboration with education and training colleagues.
• Comply with statutory and company requirements.
