Job summary

A leading real estate services firm is seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to conduct preventive maintenance on various refrigeration systems across Scotland. You will be responsible for fault-finding mechanical and electrical issues, performing compressor repairs, and conducting refrigerant recovery. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications including a CITB Safety Passport and City & Guilds certifications in refrigeration. This remote role is suitable for individuals who can work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Qualifications

  • Completed a formal apprenticeship in Refrigeration.
  • Experience in compressor repairs and overhauls.
  • Controls and Strategy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct PPM on industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Perform fault-finding on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Complete all relevant documentation to a high standard.

We are seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer for Integral Cooling Technology to cover client sites within Scotland and North.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM on all types of heavy commercial and industrial refrigeration systems utilising all types of refrigerants – ammonia, F‑Gas (HFC and HFO), carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons.
  • Reactive service including fault‑finding mechanical, electrical and control systems, including performing emergency standby rota duties.
  • Compressor repairs and overhauls.
  • Leak testing.
  • Pressure testing.
  • Refrigerant recovery and charging.
  • Ability to operate on own initiative and as part of a team to effect attainment of agreed targets and objectives.
  • Ability to develop a good understanding of our customers business requirements and operations.
  • Proactive approach to all tasks undertaken – a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel and Word.
  • Completion of all relevant documentation to a high standard.
  • General plant room and equipment housekeeping duties.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Ideally completed a formal apprenticeship in Refrigeration.
  • CITB Safety Passport.
  • City & Guilds 2078 / 2079 F‑Gas Refrigerant Handling / CITB Ammonia Handling Certificate / A3 Refrigerant Handling / CO2 Refrigerant Handling.
  • City & Guilds 207 - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • NVQ1, 2 & 3 - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • Pressure Testing Competency.
  • Specific Compressor Manufacturers Training Courses.
  • Controls and Strategy experience.
Location

Remote – Glasgow, GBR, Tyne and Wear, GBR.
