Job summary

A prominent engineering firm in the UK is seeking a skilled Industrial Manufacturing Auditor to manage quality assurance processes. You will be responsible for investigating supplier non-conformances, conducting quality audits, and ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering, excellent analytical skills, and experience with QA problem-solving methods. This is a full-time, on-site role with an hourly rate of up to £30.

Qualifications

• Experienced Quality professional with a strong background in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering and a proven track record in Product Assurance.
• Solid understanding of the product lifecycle, particularly in the development phase.
• Skilled in QA problem-solving and improvement methods (e.g. 8D, RCA, DMAIC).

The Role

So, what will you be doing as a Industrial Manufacturing Auditor?

• Manage supplier non-conformances across manufacturing teams, leading defect investigations.
• Drive root cause analysis of supplier product non-conformances using industry-standard problem-solving methods.
• Ensure supplier corrective actions are validated and effective—ideally at the supplier\'s location—to safeguard future deliveries.
• Deliver non-conformance data analysis and prepare reports for engineering, senior management, and customer reviews.
• Identify potential quality risks that could impact project milestones or deliverables, recommending mitigation strategies.
• Engage in the Project Quality network to report and share Quality Assurance updates.
• Support Manufacturing Engineering development projects, ensuring compliance with Industrial Validation milestones.
• Conduct supplier Quality audits and assessments in line with surveillance plans and contractual requirements.
• Drive process improvements to enhance on-time and on-quality delivery throughout the product lifecycle.

What are we looking for

• Ideally a minimum of HNC/HND in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experienced Quality professional with a strong background in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering and a proven track record in Product Assurance.
• Skilled in QA problem-solving and improvement methods (e.g. 8D, RCA, DMAIC).
• Solid understanding of the product lifecycle, particularly in the development phase.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel reporting, SAP QM systems, and document management tools.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to use initiative to deliver enhancements.
