A domestic abuse charity seeks an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate in Hampshire to support children and families affected by domestic abuse. This role focuses on delivering trauma-informed outreach, providing advocacy, and ensuring safety planning while collaborating closely with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations and possess strong safeguarding knowledge. A flexible schedule is required, including participation in an on-call rota.
Location: Hampshire
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Thursday 9:30am-5:30pm, Friday 9:30am-5pm)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
On-call: Yes (rota-based)
Belmont Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected domestic abuse charity to recruit an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to support children, young people and adults affected by domestic abuse, both in the community and within refuge settings.
This is a trauma-informed outreach role focused on safeguarding, emotional recovery and breaking cycles of abuse. You will work directly with children, young people and their non-abusive parents, providing practical support, advocacy and safety planning, while working closely with statutory and voluntary partners.
You will have experience supporting children, young people and adults who are vulnerable or at risk, ideally within domestic abuse, safeguarding or family support services. You will be confident working independently, managing a caseload and building trusting relationships with families and professionals.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
