You will assure the quality of performance and service by reviewing and planning systems for the safeguarding of children and young people. This position offers a competitive rate of £56.50/hour plus travel expenses and support in finding affordable accommodation.

Overview

We are looking for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join a children’s services team on the Channel Islands. If you are unfamiliar with the Channel Islands, they are the gem of the British Isles, getting all the best of the British weather, whilst further benefiting from their local tax rate of just 20%.

Responsibilities
  • Assure the quality of performance and service by reviewing and planning systems for the safeguarding of children and young people of the islands.
  • Scrutinise and analyse the work of social workers on the islands’ looked‑after children’s service; challenge practice and consult with them to make improvements where needed.
  • Given the supervisory responsibilities, be based on the island Monday‑Friday, with council assistance in sourcing affordable accommodation.
Qualifications
  • Statutory requirement: social work qualification & registration with Social Work England.
