Overview

The vacancy is for a Part Time (15 hour) Independent Conference and Reviewing Officer with a dual role for chairing Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care Reviews in North Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will be a qualified and registered Social Worker with at least 5 years post qualification experience in statutory Children’s Services Social Work.

The role requires the ability to chair multi-agency meetings and develop effective plans to meet the needs of children and families, with a focus on ensuring that children are at the heart of planning and decision-making. The candidate should have high aspirations for children and families and a commitment to meaningful participation of children, young people, their parents, carers and wider family members in practice decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Chair Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care Reviews in a multi‑agency context.
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge of legislation, procedures and guidance related to child protection, children in need and children in care.
  • Make and contribute to complex decisions affecting the safety, wellbeing and quality of life of children and young people.
  • Engage in direct work with service users and, where relevant, supervise or mentor other workers.
  • Develop and lead effective partnership working with a range of stakeholders to support high-quality practice outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified and registered Social Worker with at least 5 years post qualification experience in statutory Children’s Services Social Work.
  • Advanced knowledge of legislation, procedures and guidance related to child protection, children in need and children in care.
  • Experience of working in a social care setting with direct work with service users.
  • Experience of supervising or mentoring other workers is essential.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills; ability to work in partnership and lead effective partnership working.
