A major insurer is seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to provide interim legal support. The role focuses on managing US-related claims, triaging risks, and reviewing NDAs. In-House Legal Counsel – US Risks & Claims Support

Contract role – 4 to 5 PQE

A major insurer is seeking interim legal support due to a five-month paternity leave within the team. This is a technical, niche role suited to someone with strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify risk early.

The focus of the role
  • Supporting and triaging US-related work within the claims and underwriting function
  • Managing incoming risks and reviewing NDAs
  • Providing advisory guidance across:
    • Property
    • Casualty
    • E&O
    • PI
    • D&amp&O
    • General in house governance responsibilities
What they’re looking for
  • 4 to 5 PQE
  • Exposure to US jurisdictions and risks is essential
  • US qualification beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to recognise when matters need escalating
  • Understanding of litigation processes
  • Ideally someone who’s worked on contentious matters or spent time inside a courthouse
Practical details
  • 3 days per week up to full time considered
  • Contract engagement preferred
