Job description

We are now recruiting for an Import & Export Specialist based in Malvern working for a manufacturing company distributing construction materials internationally to over 90 countries.

Your role will involve the Import / Export of goods manufactured in the UK, North America and Europe dealing with all aspects of the import and export cycle.

This role will support the Sales team in processing their orders ensuring delivery to end destination and will be a key role within the operations of the business.

Primary responsibilities within the position include but are not limited to:
  • Manage all international freight for import and export from/to UK; FCL, LCL, airfreight, road freight, courier
  • Manage direct shipments to and from multiple worldwide locations; FCL, LCL, airfreight, road freight, courier
  • Raising invoices and export documentation
  • Arranging pre-shipment inspections; SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek
  • Submitting documentation to the bank required for Cash Against Documents and Letter of Credit payments
  • Purchasing stock from North America & Europe
  • Maintain accurate data ensuring all exports and imports are Customs compliant
  • Understanding Rules of Origin and monitor trade agreements
  • Assisting the Sales team with country research on importing and exporting requirements
  • Checking Trade Tariffs for commodity codes and duty rates
  • Apply for Advance Tariff Rulings
Experience required

We are looking for applying candidates to have manufacturing or freight forwarding experience with import and export documentation skills.

You will have knowledge of arranging multi modal shipments, rules of origin, customs, raising invoices.

Numerical, meticulous, organised, lateral thinking and be able to work both as a team and individually.

IT skills: The use of Microsoft Office software and Sage.

A second language German/French/Portuguese would be an advantage but not essential.

Reporting directly to Senior Management.
