Job summary

A leading motorsport team in the UK is seeking a dedicated Number 2 Mechanic for its McLaren Hypercar programme. The position focuses on supporting car builds, mechanical servicing, and ensuring top-quality performance under pressure. Candidates should have a strong mechanical background in elite motorsport and be able to work effectively in high-stress environments. This role also includes global travel and the commitment to long hours during race events.

Qualifications

• Experience in Hypercar, LMP2, GT, FE, F1, WRC or similar fields.
• Ability to maintain accuracy under high-pressure situations.
• Commitment to high personal standards and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the No1 Mechanic in car build and strip processes.
• Conduct mechanical servicing, repairs, and component changes.
• Maintain build standards and cleanliness.
• Work closely with engineers and other mechanics.
• Prepare garage infrastructure and support race operations.
• Ensure tooling and workstations are organised.
• Follow all safety and operational protocols.
