Hygiene Manager - Food Manufacturing

Location: Lancashire

Salary: Up to £51,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time, Days

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Hygiene Manager to lead daily hygiene standards across their modern food manufacturing facility. This is a day-based role responsible for managing hygiene compliance, cleaning standards, and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage hygiene teams on site (day‑to‑day coordination and standards delivery).
  • Ensure full compliance with BRCGS, retailer, legislative and internal hygiene requirements.
  • Own and continuously improve hygiene systems, cleaning schedules, and validation/verification.
  • Manage chemical use, training, COSHH compliance and hygiene documentation.
  • Support micro, quality and technical teams with investigations, trend data and RCA.
  • Ensure hygiene planning supports production, turnaround times and Right‑First‑Time standards.
  • Work in partnership with the Technical Manager to deliver strong Food Safety standards (not technical leadership).
  • Influence culture and behaviour, driving improvements in GMP and hygiene mindset across site.
About You
  • Proven experience in a Hygiene leadership role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, COSHH, chemicals, and cleaning validation.
  • Confident in leading teams, coaching performance and improving standards.
  • Able to communicate hygiene expectations clearly across departments.
  • Analytical, well‑organised, and motivated by continuous improvement.
  • Able to influence without direct technical accountability.
