Job summary

A retail client in Gloucester is seeking a Financial Accountant to manage group reporting and statutory accounts. This role offers a variety of responsibilities, from producing financial accounts to working on compliance reporting and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical skills, particularly in IFRS 16, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills. The position allows for working from home two days a week.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACCA or ACA certification.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS 16.
• Experience with audit and statutory reporting desired.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly financial accounts and group consolidation.
• Prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
• Manage IFRS 16 lease accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
• Implement control improvements to systems and processes.
• Act as key contact for external auditors during audits.
• Produce commentaries on financial performance.
