BBC NI People Team: The BBC NI people team supports and enables the people priorities across Northern Ireland. We partner with the NI leadership team and support our wider colleagues within the team on HR-related topics. Our team is accountable for developing and implementing the people plan in partnership with the business. Our remit covers all people activities from hire to retire, as well as delivering on transformational priorities that are people impacting.

Your key responsibilities and impact

As a HR Support (HRA26) apprentice this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, grow and contribute. You will:

  • Work alongside a dedicated HR team within the BBC, learning the ins and outs of their processes
  • Provide support to colleagues and contribute to making the BBC a great place to work
  • Assist with day-to-day HR tasks which will vary depending on the team you are placed into
  • Develop strong communication and organisation skills which will set you up perfectly for a career in HR or allow you to take these transferable skills to another area

You’ll study for your industry-recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you’ll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 3 Human Resources Support apprenticeship with our learning provider using its virtual delivery platform.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC you must:

  • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
  • Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
  • Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
  • Not already hold a qualification in the same subject area (Human Resources) at the same or a higher level than this apprenticeship. For example, if you already have a degree related to HR (Level 6 equivalent) or qualifications from The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD Level 3 / 5 / 7), you are ineligible to apply for this role.

  • Have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4 / C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or above or an equivalent qualification
