After launching at our kitchen table in 2013 we have grown each year through recommendations and referrals. We are passionate about providing the best possible customer experience for each of our clients. We are looking for a strong and dynamic part time fully CIPD qualified HR Consultant to join our friendly team from the 5th January 2026.

Role and responsibilities

As an HR Consultant, you will provide an outstanding HR service to our clients in line with legal compliance, best practice and our company values. You will deliver an exceptional service to our existing client base, whilst prospecting and developing relationships with new clients.

The skills we need from an HR Consultant are:

  • Up to date and solid knowledge of employment law and best practice HR, with an ability to translate this simply and effectively to clients
  • Experience in recruitment processes, benchmarking and pulling together total reward packages
  • The ability to manage complex and often multiple HR case loads at once
  • Excellent project management
  • Experience of working as an HR professional within a variety of industries and business sizes – particularly SME’s. Ideally over 5 years HR experience.
  • The production and delivery of bespoke training and learning to support HR strategy

Day to day the HR Consultant can expect to:

  • Have frequent contact with business owners and senior leaders on site and face to face as well as via email and telephone
  • Effectively manage projects including restructures, job evaluations and TUPE
  • Provide employee relations advice, guidance and interventions
  • Gain additional clients through networking
  • Have the support of the Directors who will coach and mentor
  • Produce and review a variety of resources including contracts, company handbooks, policies and processes, induction schedules and management development programmes
  • Write and deliver training when required
  • Write and implement HR plans to suit Company and Business needs.
  • Advise Senior Leadership on Best Practice HR and people strategy.
  • Consult to businesses regarding Employee relation matters, including dismissal, illhealth dismissal, Absence and Sickness Management, Capability meetings, Employee Performance Improvement Plans, Succession Planning, Promotions, Retirement, Maternity and Family Friendly Periods of Leave, Grievances, mediation, Disciplinary Hearings and outcomes.

The qualifications and qualities we need from the HR Consultant:

  • Level 5 or 7 CIPD Qualified
  • Excellent organisation and communications skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • The ability to build relationships with a varied range of clients by being approachable, confident and understanding
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service
  • To understand and to put in to practice PSHR’s values

The role requires frequent travel and the expectation to attend our offices for regular team meetings. There are also opportunities for occasional home working.
