About the Role

We’re looking for a HR Business Partner to join our team at Moor Road, Leeds and manage the full UK colleague life cycle, supporting the day-to‑day operations of the HR department in an engineering/manufacturing environment.

This role involves implementing HR policies, managing administrative processes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and workplace standards. The HRBP works closely with colleagues and managers to promote a productive and safe work environment while addressing HR‑related needs effectively.

This role is ideal for a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident managing multiple projects simultaneously.

What You’ll Be Doing
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Supporting end‑to‑end recruitment for technical, skilled and operational roles.
  • Coordinating interviews, offers and pre‑employment checks.
  • Delivering effective onboarding and induction to ensure new starters are set up for success.
HR Administration & Data Management
  • Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date employee records within the HR system, including contracts, attendance, absence and performance documentation.
  • Providing timely, accurate data to support payroll processing (including overtime, attendance and deductions).
  • Administering employee benefits and responding to queries, while supporting continuous improvement of benefits alongside the COO and CPO.
Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries, employee relations matters and day‑to‑day people issues.
  • Supporting managers with informal and formal ER processes, escalating appropriately.
  • Building trusted relationships across the workforce and contributing to a positive, inclusive and engaged culture.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation.
  • Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with employment, health and safety, and workplace regulations.
  • Working closely with SHEQ teams on safety processes, PPE requirements and health surveillance activity.
Performance, Training & Development
  • Supporting performance review cycles, documentation and follow‑up actions.
  • Coordinating training, certifications and mandatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate training records and supporting skills development initiatives.
HR Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Contributing to HR initiatives such as engagement activity, retention strategies and workforce planning.
  • Supporting the analysis of HR metrics and people data to inform decisions and highlight trends.
  • Helping to embed new processes, systems and ways of working as the business evolves.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in a HR role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, construction or retail environments.
  • Strong capability in handling HR data accurately, including attendance, overtime, and reporting.
  • Confidence working at pace, managing multiple priorities without compromising accuracy or compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience engaging directly with colleagues and managers across different levels of the business.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident user of HR systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • A practical, approachable and solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Comfortable spending time both in the office and engaging with operational teams on site.
  • Exposure to HR projects, system implementations or process improvement.
  • Confidence presenting people data and insights to management.

Working Pattern:

Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with one day per week working from home.

Salary:

Up to £48,000 per annum.
