A major civil engineering contractor is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to support key infrastructure projects across Northern England. This role requires proven experience in the construction sector, strong knowledge of HSE legislation, and a NEBOSH Construction Certificate. Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and HSE legislation.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary

£38,000 - £45,000 plus package including car / allowance

A Tier 1 major multi-disciplinary civil engineering contractor are looking to hire a Health and Safety Advisor to join their civils team in the North of England, supporting key infrastructure and construction projects across the Midlands and Northern England.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance across various sites.

Duties
  • Provide professional HSE advice and support to project teams across multiple sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, reporting findings and driving improvement.
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks, and site inductions to promote a culture of safety.
  • Assist with incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HSE policies and procedures.
  • Engage with site personnel, subcontractors, and clients to promote best practices.
Person Spec
  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety role within construction or civil engineering.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) - essential.
  • CSCS - Desirable
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and HSE legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and influence positive change.
  • Full UK driving licence
