EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer located in Rotherham that is currently in the market for a HSE Advisor to join their company on a permanent basis. This market leader is a well‑established entity within the precision engineering industries and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety‑critical, highly complex components, particularly within the nuclear industry. Due to internal changes and following continued success and expansion, our client is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to manage procurement and purchasing activities for designated projects, with a strong focus on quality documentation and supplier management within a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities
  • Providing expert advice on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance with UK legislation, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and internal policies.
  • Conducting risk assessments, COSHH reviews, safe systems of work, and workplace inspections.
  • Leading accident/incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Championing environmental protection and sustainability initiatives, including carbon‑reduction and waste minimisation projects.
  • Delivering HSE training, toolbox talks, and promoting a behavioural safety culture across the organisation.

Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards equivalent qualification) and strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Practical experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root‑cause analysis.
  • A strong passion for environmental sustainability, including carbon footprint understanding (Stream 1, 2, and 3), and current environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a corporate approach to discussing sustainability and legislation in meetings.
