Job summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking an Associate Director level Commercial Manager for a new HS2 project in London. The role involves leading the Design Joint Venture Commercial Team, managing all commercial aspects including risk, compliance, and contract negotiation. Candidates should have a degree in construction commercial management and previous experience in senior commercial roles. Exceptional communication and leadership skills are essential, along with a good understanding of NEC contracts and UK construction law.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in construction commercial management.
  • Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Commercial Manager is a must.
  • Previous experience within a Design Joint Venture arrangement is desired.
  • Proven experience of client management required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial and cost management function to develop a high-performing team.
  • Manage commercial risks and ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Negotiate contractual agreements and manage non-standard issues.
  • Work collaboratively with finance for accurate forecasting.
