HR & Recruitment Assistant

TSR Legal are proud to be working with a forward-thinking and award-winning law firm who are seeking an enthusiastic HR & Recruitment Assistant to join their busy and dynamic HR team in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting all aspects of HR administration across the full employee lifecycle, while also getting involved in recruitment, onboarding, and staff engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support people managers with the job requisition process, including creating job descriptions and requisition forms.
  • Create and post job adverts, managing applications and shortlisting candidates.
  • Prepare interview packs and coordinate interview arrangements, including room bookings and candidate communication.
  • Attend interviews with hiring managers and ensure timely correspondence throughout the process.
  • Coordinate attendance at career fairs and networking events.
  • Engage with recruitment agencies and assist with graduate and business projects.

HR Administration

  • Provide administrative support across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to exit interviews.
  • Maintain and update HR and payroll systems with employee information.
  • Collate payroll data accurately for processing and reporting.
  • Manage reference requests and conduct DBS checks as required.
  • Support with HR reporting, re-accreditation procedures, and document management.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related administration queries.

Staff Engagement

  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and recognition programmes.
  • Organise milestone celebrations, birthdays, and company events such as the Summer and Christmas parties.

Other Duties

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by management.
About You
  • Experience in an HR environment is desirable.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, employment law, and data protection.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Confident using IT systems and learning new software quickly.
  • A collaborative and proactive team player.
