Note, the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman is an arm's-length body and this is not a civil service job. The HR Officer role is an exciting role within the HR team, supporting the delivery of the employee experience at LGSCO. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of HR services across the employee lifecycle, ensuring policies and processes are up to date, and acting as a trusted and approachable point of contact for staff and managers.
Whilst this is a generalist role, we are looking for the successful candidate to take a lead in the areas of learning, induction and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities and requirements
- Have significant experience delivering a full professional HR/Learning service with varying complexity.
- Have Chartered membership of CIPD or equivalent level of knowledge/experience.
- Be confident advising managers on all aspects of people management.
- Thrive on advising, problem-solving and supporting people.
- Strive to improve processes.
- Have a keen interest in induction, learning and wellbeing.
- Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check. People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard checks.
