HR Business Partner – fixed term 6 months / 1 year

Location: Donaldson Timber Systems, Witney, Oxfordshire

Contract: Fixed term 6 to 12 months, full-time 36.75 hours per week

Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for driving world‑class performance in manufacturing by partnering brilliantly with the leaders and operators?

We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on, solutions‑focused, pragmatic HR Business Partner to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment with lots of opportunity to make a real difference to performance, engagement and lives.

What you’ll do:
  • Partner with the manufacturing leadership to embed great Absence Management and implement the Absence Management system. Coach the TL and Supervisors day to day with absence management. Support team with decision making and administration for effective absence management. Ensure the management is compliant to all the relevant regulations.
  • Partner with the Manufacturing Leaders to carry out an engagement survey and support the leaders to put improvements in place to motivate performance.
  • Review organisation and roles within manufacturing and ensure those in role are able and fully capable, have improvement/development plan to be fully capable within a short space of time or make changes. Partner with Leaders to ensure changes are embedded effectively and compliantly.
  • Own recruitment process partnering with manufacturing leaders and trainer and ensure all the onboarding is delivered effectively and efficiently. All onboarding and retention tools are in place with success being minimal employee churn with new starts. Partner manufacturing leaders, embed probation reviews and manage effectively.
  • Embed Donaldson HR processes that are in place across other group sites and work within the current HR group structure and ways of working.

  • Proven experience in manufacturing HR role with strong leadership skills
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and confident decision‑making
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards
  • Committed to being on site 5 days per week as living within commutable distance
