The Position

The main objective of the role will be to cover all day-to-day HR in a truly operational HR generalist role where no two days are the same.
- Support all operational staff and be the go-to person in HR, coaching, supporting, advising on all things HR
- Challenge site operational managers and staff on HR matters, help develop and grow their HR knowledge and capability, ensuring a strong people-centric culture
- Coaching managers on ER, GDPR, compliance, contracts, employment terms and conditions and HR procedures
- Ensure compliance with local law, legislation and internal policies and procedures
- Recruitment, talent, succession and workforce planning, salary reviews, evaluations and involvement in HR projects and company-wide initiatives
- Efficient and correct administration of employee data and HR related communication to employees
- Data analytics to drive performance and support strategic workforce planning
- Partner with key stakeholders to communicate and implement HR projects and initiatives regionally
- Full end-to-end ER case management covering sickness and absence, grievances, disciplinaries and all ER issues
- Travel to other UK sites if required
- Business partner with key operational stakeholders across the business
The Candidate
- CIPD level 5 (or working towards) with at least 2 years strong operational HR generalist experience
- Excellent communication skills, quickly establish credibility and respect at all levels and sites with various stakeholders
- Capable of negotiation and influencing operational managers when required
- Confident, solution-oriented, keen to understand the business, build a strong people culture
- HRBP capable of stepping up into the role of the go-to HR person, taking full responsibility for day-to-day HR and projects
- Good experience dealing with ER and case management, up-to-date employment law knowledge
- Previous experience coaching and mentoring operational staff at all levels
- Background working with blue/white collar staff
- Must be prepared to visit other UK sites and deal with HR issues (occasional overnights possible)
