A local government council in Downpatrick is seeking 2 HR Business Partners to support their Corporate Services team. Candidates should have a degree in HR/Business plus CIPD qualifications and a strong knowledge of employment law. The role includes advising on employee relations and leading HR projects. Pay: £21.24 p/h
Start Date: 29 Sept 2025
Hours: 36 per week
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is looking for 2 x HR Business Partners to support a peak in workload within the Corporate Services team.
What you’ll do
Partner with managers and staff to deliver effective HR support
Provide advice on employee relations, performance & absence management
Support workforce planning, recruitment & retention
Ensure compliance with employment law & council policies
Lead HR projects and contribute to organisational change initiatives
What we’re looking for
Degree (or equivalent) in HR/Business + CIPD (or working towards)
Strong knowledge of employment law & HR best practice
Experience as HR Business Partner/Senior HR Advisor
Excellent communication & influencing skills
Strong organisational & analytical abilities
