Job description

We’re looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join our high-performing HR team at VolkerFitzpatrick. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with managers and employees, providing expert guidance across a wide spectrum of HR matters while championing best practice and compliance. Please note that this is a site based role in Hoddesdon (office based role with some travel) and is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with key stakeholders to deliver HR best practices aligned with business requirements
  • Provide advice for general queries on HR policies and procedures to managers and employees in an accurate and timely manner
  • Support and manage employee relations (ER) matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence cases - ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes
  • Support all data and reporting requirements and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with all relevant departments to ensure a seamless employee experience
  • Monitor sickness absence and coordinate with line managers and occupational health to support employee wellbeing and return-to-work processes
  • Support workforce planning and other initiatives as required.
Qualifications & Experience

You will bring demonstrable experience at a comparable HR Advisor level, ideally holding a CIPD Level 5 qualification. Your background will include a strong track record of engaging with stakeholders and effectively managing employee relations matters. With excellent communication and relationship-building skills, you’ll be a proactive, adaptable, and resilient team player. A solid grasp of HR best practices and employment law is essential, and you must hold a full UK driving licence.
