The Client

A leading independent girls' school who pride themselves on their hard work, strong values and exceptional achievements. They are looking for a dynamic, professional and personable HR Advisor to support with the smooth running of the school.

About the HR Advisor role

This is a generalist HR role with a breadth of responsibilities and the opportunity for development. Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide HR advice, guidance and support by responding promptly and accurately to enquiries and resolving all matters on HR processes and procedures
  • To work closely with the Bursar and HR Administrator to provide a coherent and consistent HR support across the College and Prep
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR system
  • Monitor absences
  • Maintain appraisal records on the HR system
  • Advise line managers on performance management processes and ensure all staff receive an effective, annual performance review documentation
  • Regular maintenance and organisation of office filing systems, retaining documents, correspondence and other records in line with HR and GDPR procedures
  • Participate in training and development activities and programmes and attend and participate in meetings as required
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Bursar as commensurate with the post
Required Experience & Skills
  • Experience of handling complex employee relation matters fairly and confidently
  • Approachable with excellent people skills
  • Part or full CIPD qualification desirable
  • Strong customer/client service skills
  • Professional communication across a range of stakeholders and the ability to work with discretion when managing highly confidential information
  • Team-orientated and also comfortable working autonomously
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Competent Microsoft Office skills.
